Deaconess Associations Foundation Annual Golf Outing Sets Fundraising Record

Sponsors and golfers set a record for the Deaconess Associations Foundation’s 27th annual golf outing and fundraiser held in the fall of 2017.

Maketewah Country Club hosted 84 golfers at the event, resulting in proceeds of more than $60,000 to benefit the residents of Deaconess’ senior service communities in Ohio. Last year, $40,000 was raised. This year’s fund will provide much-needed facility upgrades and medical equipment to enhance services for seniors at Cottingham Retirement Community in Mason and Continental Manor in Blanchester, Ohio.

Executives Mike Tiemeier of Green Township and Tom Schiff of Columbia Tusculum from Cincinnati Insurance Company served as this year’s lead sponsor, contributing $20,000 to support the project.  A foursome from Mason & Co. secured the first place team award at the event.

"Generous sponsors like Cincinnati Insurance Company allow us to leverage our philanthropic dollars to benefit those in our community," said Diane Decker of Springfield Township, DAF development director. "We’re grateful to all sponsors and golfers for their support in enhancing life for our seniors."

DAF is the philanthropic arm of Deaconess Associations, Inc., a diversified healthcare organization that provides residency and patient care within its senior service communities and specialized home care services to those requiring assistance in their personal homes.
