Starbucks is rolling out a beta version of its app in ChatGPT, offering customers a new way to discover and customize beverages using conversational AI.
The feature, launched April 15, allows users to describe their mood, preferences, or cravings in natural language — or even upload photos — to receive personalized drink recommendations. The system translates these inputs into tailored Starbucks beverage suggestions.
Users can refine and customize their selections within ChatGPT, choose a preferred store location, and begin placing an order before completing checkout through the Starbucks app or website.
The company said the integration is designed to make drink discovery more intuitive and aligned with how customers explore options today, including trends driven by social media and in-store customization.
The launch builds on Starbucks’ broader efforts to enhance personalization through AI, aiming to create a more seamless and engaging customer experience across digital platforms.
