Qualcomm Technologies has announced a multi-year technology collaboration with Google to accelerate digital transformation in the automotive sector.

Through this alliance, the companies will leverage complementary technologies from the Snapdragon Digital Chassis Android Automotive OS and Google Cloud to produce a new standardized reference platform for the development of cockpit solutions using GenAI.

Notably, Google AI will serve as the foundation for this framework, enabling GenAI-powered in-car experiences such as intelligent voice assistants, immersive mapping, and real-time updates that anticipate driver needs.

These features will be supported by Snapdragon® heterogeneous edge AI system-on-chips (SoCs) and the Qualcomm® AI Hub, which streamline the deployment of AI models for applications like vision, audio, and speech directly within the cockpit.

Key elements of the technology collaboration are:

  1. Gen AI-enabled Digital Cockpit Development Framework

  2. Unified SDV Car to Cloud Framework
