“Agentic brokerage” Public has introduced a new AI-driven feature called Agents, enabling investors to automate portfolio strategies through natural-language instructions.
The tool allows users to define trading, cash management, and risk strategies in plain language, with AI agents monitoring market conditions in real time and executing trades accordingly. Instead of manually placing orders, investors can set rules and triggers that the system follows autonomously.
Agents are designed to guide users through building strategies by asking follow-up questions to refine timing, conditions, and execution logic before activation. Once deployed, the agents continuously track market movements and act based on the predefined instructions.
“Every investor has ideas and strategies in their heads, but executing them used to require being glued to a screen all day, waiting for the right moment to act,” said Jannick Malling, co-CEO and co-founder of Public. “Agents not only automate strategies for retail investors; they help translate their intent into action.”
The company said users retain full visibility and control over their agents, with access to activity logs and trading history. Investors can pause, modify, or stop strategies at any time.
Public added that the agents operate entirely within its platform’s infrastructure, ensuring that all actions remain contained within a secure, authenticated environment.
