Panasonic Holdings Corp. has announced a strategic partnership with U.S. AI startup Anthropic to enhance the convenience and innovation of its products and services using generative artificial intelligence. The announcement was made by Panasonic Group CEO Yuki Kusumi during his keynote address at the CES 2025 annual technology show.
Panasonic plans to increase the share of AI-driven products and services in its overall sales to 30% by 2035, reflecting the company’s commitment to advancing its AI capabilities.
“Collaborating with Anthropic is the best option for Panasonic to incorporate ethical AI into its operations,” Kusumi said.
As the first initiative under this partnership, Panasonic will launch Umi, a service designed to support families’ mental and physical health and happiness. Umi, powered by Anthropic’s Claude generative AI platform, will debut in the United States later this year.
