Indian legal research company Lexlegis.AI has launched a legal-specific LLM, designed for law firms, government departments, corporate legal teams, SMEs, and independent legal professionals.
The said LLM is trained on over 10 million Indian legal documents and can be used for case searches with citations and soon for document insights and drafting.
As claimed by the company, the LLM has been trained on over 20 billion tokens, which, if compared with other legal-specific LLMs, would be a small training set.
With plans to go global with the product next year, the company highlighted that utilizing GenAI could help “India’s judicial system [which is] currently grappling with over 44.9 million pending cases.”
The company further adds, “The AI’s capabilities extend beyond research; it can scan and analyze legal documents, identify relevant information, and flag inconsistencies, drastically reducing the time spent on manual reviews.”
Saakar Yadav, Founder and CEO, said in a statement, “Lexlegis.ai is designed to empower judiciary and legal professionals with AI-driven tools that simplify and sharpen research. Our forthcoming features, Interact and Draft, will further streamline legal processes, enabling professionals to save time and improve accuracy. We intend to introduce more workflows and processes to the practice management platform not only in India but even in other countries in the near future.”
