Google announced a fresh $9 billion investment in Oklahoma over the next two years to expand its cloud and AI infrastructure, including a new data center campus in Stillwater and the growth of its existing Pryor facility.
The tech giant is pairing the infrastructure push with education and workforce development programs. As part of its broader $1 billion commitment to U.S. education, the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University have joined the inaugural Google AI for Education Accelerator, offering students free access to Google Career Certificates and AI training courses.
Google is also funding a program with the Electrical Training ALLIANCE to expand Oklahoma’s electrical workforce pipeline by 135%, preparing labor for the state’s growing energy and technology infrastructure needs.
“These investments will prepare Oklahoma’s students with critical AI and job-ready skills and create a talent pipeline of workers to power not only Oklahoma’s future but also America’s AI leadership,” the company said.
