Google has entered into a partnership with The Associated Press (AP) to integrate real-time news into its Gemini AI chatbot. This collaboration represents Google’s first agreement with a news publisher to enhance generative AI capabilities, addressing critical concerns about AI’s use of copyrighted content.

The partnership will provide Google’s Gemini with a continuous feed of up-to-date news, sourced directly from AP. AP’s Chief Revenue Officer, Kristin Heitmann, described the agreement as an extension of the organizations’ longstanding relationship.

While the financial terms of the agreement remain undisclosed, questions persist about how Gemini will credit AP’s content or link back to original articles.
