Google has announced a $30 million global open call for nonprofits, civic organizations, academic institutions, and social enterprises to apply for its six-month Google.org Accelerator: Generative AI program.

This initiative aims to support projects that harness generative AI to address social challenges across three key focus areas: knowledge and skills development, scientific advancement, and community resilience.

Recipients of the accelerator will receive funding, mentorship, Google Cloud Credits, technical training, and pro bono support to build AI-powered solutions that drive social impact.

The search giant is particularly interested in proposals that use generative AI to solve problems in impactful ways, whether by enabling pathways for learning, accelerating scientific breakthroughs, or fostering stronger, safer communities.

The program will evaluate applications based on feasibility, the effective use of generative AI, scalability, and the potential for positive social impact. Organizations selected will benefit from resources that help maximize generative AI’s potential to create meaningful, scalable solutions.
