Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has unveiled Tadreeb, a fully digital platform designed to modernize driver training and licensing across the emirate. The system connects all 27 of Dubai’s driving institutes, digitizing the entire training process, automating assessments, and centralizing trainee data.
By using artificial intelligence, Tadreeb tailors lessons to each learner, raising safety standards and improving the quality of licensed drivers. “Tadreeb identifies the needs of trainees through data analysis, enabling us to deliver quality training and licensing professional drivers,” said Ahmed Mahboob, CEO of RTA’s Licensing Agency. “It contributes to reducing road fatalities, enhances governance, and aligns with global best practices.”
Currently supported by more than 3,400 instructors and 3,000 vehicles, the platform delivers around six million training hours annually to 250,000 trainees. Each training route is tracked electronically, creating a paperless, transparent process that has improved evaluation standards and sped up permit issuance.
The system has achieved 97% trainer compliance, reduced operating costs, and streamlined oversight with smart dashboards. Internationally, Tadreeb has been recognized as the first unified driver training platform endorsed by the International Commission for Driver Testing (CIECA) and has won the Prince Michael International Road Safety Award.
RTA plans to expand the platform’s capabilities with deeper AI integration, personalized training journeys, and enhanced automation, positioning Tadreeb as a global benchmark for driver education and road safety.
