Collective Health announced a strategic infrastructure expansion and collaboration with Google Cloud to power its next-generation artificial intelligence platform, Collective AI (CAI™), aimed at improving how employers and members navigate healthcare benefits.

The new AI capabilities will be embedded across Collective Health’s platform and designed to enhance member support, customer service operations, and employer-facing benefits management.

CAI MX™, focused on member experience, functions as a digital concierge within the My Collective® app, allowing users to ask questions about their specific health plans in natural language. Members can inquire about plan status, access ID cards, and receive plan-specific information through a conversational interface.

CAI Intelligence™ supports customer service representatives — known as Member Advocates — by automating plan searches and documentation in real time during calls, enabling representatives to focus more directly on member support.

On the employer side, CAI CX™ aims to simplify complex administrative processes such as annual enrollment and plan implementation. Integrated into the Collective Compass® portal, the tool provides guided workflows and plan design insights to help benefits leaders and consultants manage strategy and execution more efficiently.

“Our focus at Collective Health has never been on chasing headlines but on the real, practical application of technology to solve the problems that affect millions of people trying to get the care they need,” said Ali Diab, CEO and co-founder of Collective Health. “By collaborating with Google Cloud, we are combining our deep healthcare expertise with world-class infrastructure to improve access to benefits information for employers and members, with robust security and privacy protections for sensitive healthcare data.”

Aashima Gupta, Global Director, Healthcare Strategy & Solutions at Google Cloud, emphasized the importance of balancing innovation with security. “By choosing Google Cloud to help deliver CAI™, Collective Health is able to deploy sophisticated generative AI models on a foundation built for privacy, scale, and reliability,” she said.

Collective Health said its AI platform is built on a privacy-by-design framework, ensuring sensitive employee health information is protected and not used to train external foundational models. The company added that its AI systems adhere to established compliance standards, including the HIPAA Security Rule and SOC 2 Type II principles.
