British outsourcing firm Capita is set to roll out an AI-driven recruitment service this summer, aiming to reduce hiring timelines from weeks to just hours.
Developed in collaboration with Salesforce, the tool uses AI to automate over 200 tasks, including the end-to-end recruitment process — from job specifications to candidate shortlisting. Salesforce said Capita is the first B2B company in the UK to deploy its Agentforce AI platform.
“We hire about 10,000 people for multiple operations and multiple contracts every year because of the nature of the transient workforce in some of our markets,” Capita CEO Adolfo Hernandez said.
The AI system, built in the first quarter of this year, is designed to deliver a pipeline of qualified candidates matched to roles, allowing human recruiters to focus on final interviews and onboarding.
“We’re going to tune it and then when we’ve got it ready, we’ll go to market,” Hernandez said, adding that high-volume recruitment will begin using the system later this summer.
