Portaluca (Formerly 4th Street Boutique) Hosts Celebrations at its College Hill and Downtown Locations

Portaluca (formerly the 4^th Street Boutique) is celebrating its new name and new website with a festive celebration at both Portaluca locations in early August. Portaluca is a women’s boutique that sells new and gently-used women’s clothing, shoes and accessories at affordable prices, with all proceeds supporting Dress for Success Cincinnati and its programs for disadvantaged women.

Portaluca Downtown will host its celebration on Wednesday, August 6 from 10:00 am – 3:00 pm featuring special sales throughout the day, refreshments and a ribbon cutting ceremony at 12:00 pm with Julie Smith-Morrow, the CEO of Portaluca and Dress for Success Cincinnati.

Portaluca College Hill will host its celebration on Friday, August 8 from 11:00 am – 6:00 pm featuring special sales and refreshments. All are invited to help celebrate and to shop at one of Cincinnati’s best kept shopping secrets.

Portaluca Downtown is located at 209 West 4^th Street (near 4^th and Elm). It is open to the public Monday-Wednesday 10:00 am – 3:00 pm, Thursday 10:00 am – 6:00 pm, Friday and Saturday 10:00 am – 3:00 pm.

Portaluca College Hill opened its doors in 2011 in the College Hill Business District at 5838 Hamilton Ave. It is open to the public Wednesday – Friday, 11:00 am – 6:00 pm and Saturday, 11:00 am – 4:00 pm.  

Julie Smith-Morrow, CEO of Portaluca and Dress for Success Cincinnati, explained the new name reflects the evolution of the boutiques, "We are so proud to relaunch our earned income venture as Portaluca. Portaluca is the port of light, or beacon, for women in their journey toward self-sufficiency. Portaluca is extraordinary fashion giving back to sisters in need."

Portaluca opened to the public as 4^th Street Boutique in 2002 to sell women’s new and gently used clothing, shoes and accessories at affordable prices and quickly became known as a destination for women to find stylish clothing and accessories for less. Special sales and events, such as the Designer Sale, offer one-of-a-kind fashion finds and give customers a unique shopping experience featuring designer labels.
