VIDEO | Prodago Founder: Data Management is a Fragmented Discipline

(US and Canada) Mario Cantin, Prodago Founder and Chief Data Strategist, speaks with Robert Lutton, Vice President, Sandhill Consultants, about launching Prodago and how it benefits users.

Cantin started Prodago, seeing the challenges that organizations face in transforming the way they manage data, while he worked with large organizations undertaking very large projects. He has been a programmer, analyst, architect, manager, developer, strategist, data management consultant, and more recently, an entrepreneur. Cantin says many initiatives failed because organizations were unable to adapt and transform the way they managed data.

Cantin explains that data management is a fragmented discipline with multiple interconnected topics causing unequal maturity across different disciplines in larger organizations. Multiple projects fail because of the inability to align and improve data management driven by specific objectives.

He highlights that, as a solution, Prodago is based on bi-model data governance that covers both enterprise and project governance.

According to Cantin, the enterprise software solution supports organizations in defining their internal data management capabilities, and allows them to accelerate their enterprise positioning, policies, and directives to build capability. Similarly, the software helps organizations to plan, execute and build governance oversight of their projects. It also supports collecting governance artifacts and evidence, and managing data and AI risk. The software is designed to help projects succeed by embedding governance in the different project phases.

Cantin mentions that Prodago has been selected twice as a Gartner Cool Vendor in 2016 and 2020.
