Prahalad Thota Joins Facebook as VP of Data Science

(USA and Canada) Prahalad Thota, VP of Data Science at Facebook, is responsible for strategic and product analytics for the business products organization.

Prior to joining Facebook, Prahalad was the SVP and Head of Enterprise Analytics & Data Science at Wells Fargo & Co. For 6 years, he is responsible for leading the centralized AI Model Development COE, delivering horizontal analytic capabilities and products, and leading the analytic community.

Before Wells Fargo, Prahalad was the Head of Analytics at Charles Schwab. He is in charge of delivering advanced analytics and data management for marketing, product, segment, and bank organizations.

Earlier, Prahalad worked at PayPal for over 4 years in various roles – first was building and leading the Global Marketing Analytics Team, and then heading analytics, growth, and product management for the Latin America Business Unit. Prahalad also spent about 8 years leading various analytics, marketing, credit risk, and product management teams within the Credit Card Division of Capital One Financial Services.

He started his career as a business consultant at Arthur Andersen working on strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and risk consulting assignments for financial services companies.
