Phanii Pydimarri, Stanley Black & Decker Senior Director, AI & Analytics Products, speaks with Savio Rodrigues, Trianz VP of Client Partnership USA and CDO Magazine Editorial Board Member, in a video interview about artificial intelligence application and the four phases of AI evolution.

Pydimarri states that human and machine relationships are key for the overall progress of AI. He mentions a few exciting and promising AI application areas:

  • AI within the ESG space. Doing good for society and the environment via AI that helps crunch massive amounts of data for investors seeking sustainable investments and organizations trying to go net zero.

  • Construction companies. Applying AI to improve overall construction quality, reduce accidents and disruption, fast-track construction time and identify areas of improvement.

  • Electronic vehicles and battery technology. AI plays a significant role by providing edge computing capabilities within autonomous vehicles.

Next, Pydimarri mentions that AI evolution will happen on a four-phase scale, with the current stage being phase two. The four phases are:

  • Looking at the data from an experience standpoint and influencing current decisions.
  • Forming memories and drawing on experiences in the current phase.
  • Using AI that can influence entities and learn from context.
  • A fully aware system that doesn't require human intervention or instruction.
