Justin Elszasz is the New Chief Data Officer of the City of Baltimore

Mayor Brandon Scott has announced the appointment of Justin Elszasz as the City of Baltimore's new chief data officer. Elszasz's new role cements the City of Baltimore's commitment for a culture of open data and data governance. Justin Elszasz aims to be the city’s “chief data evangelist”.

Justin Elszasz is an experienced data scientist, engineer, and public servant. He is committed in supporting good government and decision-making through data. Prior to his appointment, Elszasz served as the city’s Data Scientist and Deputy Director and Analytics Leader.  

With Justin Elszasz’s strong background in data and analytics, the City of Baltimore is boosting its drive for a data-driven culture.
