Born in India, built in Germany, and seasoned in the United States, her career has been a deliberate journey across industries, each chosen to deepen her perspective on how technology and data can create lasting enterprise value.
Most recently, Deval served as Chief Data and Insights Officer at Genesco Inc., where she led AI strategy, data platform modernization, and consumer intelligence across a multi-brand retail portfolio. Her work focused on turning data into measurable business value through AI-powered marketing, agentic automation, loyalty intelligence, and modern cloud infrastructure.
She has been named to CDO Magazine’s Global Data Power Women list for four consecutive years. As a member of the EDM Council, she regularly contributes her experience and perspective to the broader data community. She is also a frequent speaker at Gartner, CDO Magazine, and National Diversity Council events.
Beyond work, Deval is passionate about building a more just and empowered society and believes those values begin at a young age. Her family is deeply involved with Scouting America; she is the proud mother of an Eagle Scout and serves as an Assistant Scoutmaster with a girls’ troop. She also volunteers with Saathi, a South Asian organization supporting survivors of abuse, and serves as Board Vice President of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), supporting the well-being of children involved in the court system.
An avid marathoner, Deval also enjoys talking about data through the lens of her marathon experiences.
