Things to Do This Weekend: Halloween 2015 Edition

Halloween is one of the first holidays we celebrate as the temperatures drop and the foliage begins to change. It's also a holiday that can be distinctly different for everyone in Cincinnati. But whether you're taking the little ones trick-or-treating, getting lost on a corn maze, picking out a pumpkin or heading to a haunted house for an adrenaline rush, Halloween is a holiday jam-packed with things to do. This weekend, check out some of these local attractions that are sure to be great!

Family Friendly:

Attractions suitable for families and children of all ages. These attractions don't include scary monsters or darkened rooms - they're purely for a little fall and Halloween family fun!

Friday Fright Night – October 30 at Washington Park – classic horror and spooky movies for all ages.

7:30pm: Scooby Doo: The Haunted House Hangup

8:15: the Poltergeist

Jack O’Lantern Junction – through November 1 at EnterTRAINment Junction

Walk through the trick or treat maze, stop at Halloweenville and enjoy the area’s only indoor pumpkin patch, where kids get a free mini pumpkin.

Snoopy’s Halloween Party – through November 1 from 12-6 at Kings Island

Trick or treating, a kid’s costume contest, a petting farm and more, including all the rest Kings Island has to offer for all ages.

Haunted Pirates of the Ohio – October 31, boarding time at 11pm, sailing time from 12-2pm

BB Riverboats offers a BB Kids Cruise, featuring pirates, Halloween games and plenty of treats for the whole family.

Trunk or Treat Events:

Boo Bash at Northgate Mall – October 31, 2-5 pm

Halloween at Tri-County Mall – October 31 12-3pm

Trick or Treat at Eastgate Mall – October 31 5-7pm

Trick or Treat at Cabela’s in West Chester – October 21 12-3pm

Teens and Adults:

These attractions are less for the young or faint of heart. Featuring scares, thrills and a variety of settings, these attractions aren't recommended for youngsters.

The USS Nightmare – through October 31, open from 7pm-1am

Established on an old steamship, USS Nightmare offers a different haunted house experience. You can also purchase a ticket for the Captain’s Extreme Tour, where the crew is unleashed and the walkthrough is even darker than normal – not recommended for children under 17.

Mt. Healthy Haunted Hall – through October 31, open from 8pm to 11pm

This year’s Haunted Hall celebrates 25 years of scaring Cincinnati, and will include fan favorites from more than 20 old scenes alongside many new ones.

The Land of Illusion Haunted Scream Park – through October 31, 8pm-2am

With multiple different available attractions, Land of Illusion brings new frights every night as guests walk the theme park.

Benton Haunted Farmhouse – open weekends in October, 7pm-11pm

Each year boasts a new design within the historic farmhouse that’s rumored to be truly haunted.

Wilmington Haunted Hollow Ride – open weekends from dusk til midnight

Home of the fire-breathing, guest-chasing semi-trucks, four different attractions are available for thrill-seekers looking for a variety of themes and settings within one place.

Dent School House – weekends through November 13, 7:30pm-12am

Cincinnati’s most renowned haunted house will be featuring it’s normal tours, with special weekends scheduled out for Lights Out tours.
